1. Project Overview
The project, as an important part of the G3 Beijing-Taipei Expressway in the national expressway network, connects the Mount Jiuhua, the Taiping Lake, Mount Huang and other famous scenic spots in series. In its coverage, mountain ridges and hilling terrains account for over 90% of overall route, which runs 224.67 km long. Its design speeds are 100km/h and 80km/h respectively, with a six-lane road base width of 33.5m and a four-lane road base width of 26m or 24.5m. The project, as a successful model demonstration in mountainous areas, was awarded Classic Works of Road Design after 1949 by China Association for Highway Prospect and Design.

5) Tunnel design highlighting environment-friendliness, resource saving and safe operation.
6) Researches and applications on key technologies in design and construction of high slope protection and treatment.
7) Researches and applications on key technologies in design and construction of a complex technological bridge -Taipinghu Bridge.
8) Researches and applications on the new permeable tunnel with ribbed arch beam.
9) Researches and applications on key technologies in design and construction of long multi-arch tunnel under complex geology conditions.
10) Technological innovation in road ecological restoration.
11) First domestic tunnel which has been successfully implemented with “zero excavation” in the whole route
12) Researches and applications on the monitoring solution for extra-large bridge and extra-long tunnel sections in mountainous areas.
13) Application of LED energy-saving lighting technology.
3. Innovative Achievements
1) Winner of First Prize in 2010 Outstanding Highway Transport Design Award.
